I use MaimeriBlu watercolors almost exclusively. Not only are they single-pigment colors, which makes them ideal for mixing, but they are also inexpensive — especially for professional-grade colors. Being the lightest of the primaries, I have found that I tend to use more yellow than either blue or magenta in my mixes.
