This is one of the blackest inks that I have been able to find, and like all of Dr. Ph Martin's India inks, it dries completely waterproof — making it perfect for watercolor washes where one wishes to use a black base. Due to its intense blackness, I prefer to use it on its own with a bright white paper as a base.
