The medieval village of Pari, Italia not only has many nooks and crannies, but an intricate system of staircases as well. These stairs are often populated with potted plants, which not only add a splash of color, but also a vibrant sense of life. I used the Winsor & Newton professional watercolors on this piece as well, as I wanted this painting to have a deep blue sky and a vibrant green door to the side of the stairs. At this point, I was also working out different ways of approaching brickwork. In the end, I chose to paint each one individually with different tones of color.
