This painting went in a completely different direction from my first two attempts at depicting this scene, mainly because of my more varied use of color. This is particularly evident in the brickwork, which I carefully painted using several different shades of color, while painting each brick individually. I was also able to breathe in additional details into the area under the doorway, including textures on the glass and the terracotta owl.
