This little “secret garden” is one of many hidden nooks in the medieval village of Pari, located in the Italian countryside of Tuscany. This piece represents my first foray into the wonderful world of watercolor. I hadn’t felt that I was getting enough saturation in my works, particularly in the sky, so I decided to try something new. Several years later, this is still one of my favorite views in Pari due to the contrast of the rooftops and bell tower with the flat stone pavement and potted plants.
