This was my first attempt at painting another human being. This is a portrait of one of my friends in Pari, based upon a photo that someone (who shall remain nameless) took of him while he was sitting in the bar area of the local restaurant, Le Due Cecche. While I was pleased overall with the way that this piece came out, I was also reminded of how difficult it is to capture someone’s facial features using a series of closed lines instead of focusing upon shading.
