Today, like last year, I donated a piece of art to the 3rd annual Putnam Art Heist. This year, the artwork is on display for an entire month before the auction, which is scheduled for the beginning of March. Similar to last year, I decided to donate a piece based upon the village of Pari, in Italia…
Putnam Art Heist 2026

This is the second year that I have had the honor of donating a piece for the Putnam Arts Council's annual Art Heist. Once again, I chose to donate a piece showcasing the beauty of Pari, a medieval village in Italy that has provided me with inspiration — not only for my artwork, but my life as well.
This piece is particularly unique, as it preserves the memory of a manger that once sat at one of the two ways that one can access the village by car. While both the manger and the tree are gone, my hope is that their memory will continue to live on through my artwork.
As with all of my pieces within the past year and a half, I hand-mixed all of the colors for this piece using the primary colors of magenta, yellow, and cyan, with just a touch of ivory black to lightly darken some of the muted tones and to create the greys.
I am both curious and excited to see who will choose this piece and provide it with a proper home.
Yours in inspiration,
Michael Weaver
