I began seriously creating art when I returned back to the United States after my first trip to Italia to work through my many intense emotions. Many of my works are inspired by the medieval village of Pari, located just south of Siena in Toscana. The artwork presented here will take you on a visual journey that illustrates my evolution as an artist.
Here you will find a variety of essays and articles. Although many of my writings focus upon my experiences in Italia, I also find inspiration in Renaissance Naturalism, Pythagorean Number Theory, Alchemy, the works of Romantic poets such as Blake, and the mystic origins of Western science.
This sketchbook is where I experiment with new techniques, play with new ideas, and practice my fundamentals. This practice of sketching influences all of my works, mainly by helping me reconnect with a sense of playfulness and wonder. You will also find step-by-step snapshots that give insights into my process.
